Location. The two tower Ala Moana Hotel rises adjacent to the Ala Moana Shopping Center and is positioned across the street from the Hawaii Convention Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. Ala Moana Beach Park offers recreation one block from the hotel.
Hotel Features. Seven on site restaurants and bars include Aaron's Atop the Ala Moana, where continental fine dining is accompanied by panoramic views. Plantation Caf� prepares American style fare, and offers seafood and prime rib buffets. Tsukasa presents a sushi bar and hosts karaoke, while the Royal Garden Restaurant specializes in Chinese fare and dim sum lunches. Rumours features musical theme nights such as Salsa After Dark. Wireless Internet access is available in function rooms and public areas. A sundeck surrounds an outdoor splash pool, and a fitness center provides a complete array of work out equipment, a sauna and a steam room.
Guestrooms. This smoke free hotel offers 1,153 contemporary guestrooms located within the 13 story Kona Tower and the 36 story Waikiki Tower. Many rooms offer furnished balconies with views of Honolulu, Ko'olau Mountain or the Pacific Ocean. Beds feature pillowtop mattresses, linen earth tone duvet covers, and 300 thread count sheets. Light toned oak furnishings and stainless steel appliances offer contemporary ambience. Most rooms include small refrigerators, flat screen televisions, in room safes for a fee, and coffeemakers. Microwave ovens are either installed in the rooms or are available by request. Accommodations offer wired high speed and wireless Internet access.
Expert Tip. The Ala Moana Hotel is directly connected by a sky bridge to Ala Moana Mall. If you seek a shopper's paradise, I recommend this mall that houses 250 boutique shops and restaurants.
Renovation Notice:
The hotel's pool is scheduled to be closed for renovations beginning January 14, 2008. The estimated completion date is February 15, 2008. These dates are subject to change. Renovation work will be performed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. There may be noise disturbance. During the renovation period, guests will have complimentary access to YMCA pool located across the street from the hotel.
